Humanistic Lifecycle Events

Every life is marked by transitions and special occasions – births, new relationships, deaths, illnesses, and times when we “come of age.” We mark these in our own ways. But sometimes it can be hard to find the words we need. Simply marking the event is challenging enough without also having to run the ceremony itself.

It can be especially hard to find this kind of help in Indiana.

I can work with you to craft a ceremony that reflects your secular values and beliefs. I can lead the ceremony so you can focus on being with family or friends at the important moments of your life.

As a Humanist Celebrant, accredited by the Humanist Society, I can help you celebrate joyous occasions and mark sad ones with an understanding that this life is the only one we have. Services include:

  • Weddings
  • Funerals
  • Baby naming/welcoming ceremonies
  • Adoption welcoming ceremonies
  • Coming of age ceremonies, including secular and cultural Jewish bar mitzvah and bat mitzvah celebrations

Bar Mitzvah and Bat Mitzvah celebrations!?

Absolutely.

You can celebrate being or becoming a bar mitzvah or bat mitzvah in a ceremony that reflects and rejoices in Jewish heritage and holds meaning for you and your family, and for your secular Jewish values. It might be more “traditional” in structure or be something original, handcrafted by you and your loved ones. It will take into account the needs, ability level, interests, and intention of the b’nai mitzvah, including those with particular physical, emotional, or neurological requirements. Whether the celebration happens at the traditional early teenage years, or happens as an adult, I can help prepare you or a loved one for a bar or bat mitzvah ceremony. Please feel free to contact me for more information.
